How to Make Tastes-Like-Ice-Cream Kale Smoothie

  1. Put all of the ingredients into your blender (in the order listed in the recipe card) and puree for about a minute, until smooth and creamy. Tweak flavors to taste.

Tastes-Like-Ice-Cream Kale Smoothie

A creamy, sweet, and nutrient-packed kale smoothie that tastes like dessert!

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon probiotic powder, optional
  • 1/2 cup raw, unsalted cashews, soaked
  • 1 cup torn-up curly green kale leaves
  • 2 ripe bananas, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates, soaked OR 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 2 cups ice cubes (a little less if using frozen bananas)
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger, optional

Instructions 

  • Put all of the ingredients into your blender in the order listed and puree for about a minute, until smooth and creamy. Tweak flavors to taste (you may like a bit more kale, sweetener, or ginger.)

  2. Fave Blender recipe? Kefir, plain yogurt, frozen organic cherries, frozen organic pineapple, gelatin powder (for protein), greens powder, chia, flax, and a little juice or milk just what is needed to make it blend.

  3. We may a variation of your green smoothie with canned pineapple, banana, kale and coconut water.

  4. I clearly don’t use my blender enough – there are some fabulous recipes shared on here. we enjoy the occasional fruit smoothie for my littles. They love strawberry banana with a veg or two snuck in 😉 I don’t typically measure, just throw it together.

    Kale or spinach
    almond or cocunut milk
    Frozen strawberries
    avacado
    Lime juice

    Yum!

  6. I like to make watermelon gazpacho, it’s not a blender smoothie but I do use the blender to whip up the watermelon, onion, jalapeno, apple juice, and some basil. You can mix it up however you want. Super refreshing in the summer.

  7. I like making my own V8 juice in my blender. Tomatoes, beets, celery, spinach, red pepper and sometimes a little lemon or jalepeno.

  8. My favorite is pumpkin or kombucha squash with yogurt or kefir, a frozen banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, vanilla and local, raw honey., and almond milk if needed. Delicious!

  9. Thanks for sharing. I love blending a handful of spinach, 1 cup pineapple, 1/2 banana, small halo/cutie orange and 1 cup coconut milk.

  10. My favorite smoothie is the following (you will not BELIEVE the taste)!
    1/2 cup chopped celery
    1/2 cup fresh Italian leaf parsley
    1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk (i use light coco milk from can)
    1/2 cup plain coconut water
    Blend the above FIRST. Then add:
    1 cup frozen mango chunks
    1 small persian cucumber, peeled and cut into about 4 chunks
    1 inch peeled fresh ginger
    1 Tbsp. chia seeds
    juice from 1/2 lemon

    It is the BEST smoothie ever. Enjoy!

  11. Our super green start to everyday:
    2 fist full of kale (1+ cup)
    Stalk celery
    2 frozen cubes of wheat grass
    1 apple or pear
    3/4″ fresh ginger piece
    8 oz coconut water
    Optional: 1/2 packet unflavored gelatin
    Blend all in VitaMix

  14. We like pomegranate smoothies with 1 cup pomegranate juice, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1-6 oz. container Greek strawberry yogurt, 1T. Ground flax seed, 1T. honey and 4 ice cubes.. My kids love it!
