Tips and Tricks

I throw a couple frozen bananas, any other frozen fruit, like mangoes or berries, and a small handful of greens like kale or spinach into my Vitamix and it comes out the consistency of ice cream! Thick and creamy. My 2 1/2 year old thinks it’s ice cream and loves it!
No recipe, just blend the fruits with greens.
I like to keep it simple with almond milk, strawberries, some kale and a banana.
Smoothie Ice Cream – Favorite smoothie (banana, milk, strawberries, blueberries) and blend up. Then put into freezer pop molds (I use the tube ones) and freeze. Voila! The kid who doesn’t like smoothies asks for smoothie ice cream!
Any fruit, a little milk or ice cream, and ice works for my family.
I don’t have a go to recipe to share but in general love to make Breakfast Green Smoothies.
My two kids and I try to have green smoothies every day. We are always experimenting. Our favorite is spinach with bananas, pineapple and mango. The Blender Girl’s recipe could become a new favorite if it takes like ice cream!! Excited to try it in the next couple of days. 🙂
Frozen bananas, pumpkin cinnamon and vanilla almond milk with coconut. YUMMY!
bieler’s broth
Love spinach or kale, carrot, whatever fruit in the fridge and some raw nuts. Ice and cold water. Yummy.
Smoothies of course! And I mean any smoothie. I don’t have a recipe to share. I just throw in whatever I have lying around! I always try to include some Greek yogurts and flax seed. The kids don’t even notice the flax seed!
I like Dr. Oz’s recipe for a healthy smoothie. 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 berries,, 1/2 of a banana, 2 T rice protein, 2 T flax seeds and I add to it 1/2 cup greek yogurt.
Fresh kale
Froz banana
Froz strawberries
Walnuts
Water
Protein powder
Our favorite blender recipe is super simple: 3-4 cups dark chocolate almond milk, 3-4 frozen bananas, 2 hands full of frozen kale, 2-3 T of peanut butter. It tastes like a chocolate shake and disappears in minutes.
My go-to is kale, Bosc pear, cucumber, wheatgrass shot, and almond butter.
My blender stopped working last summer (which is when I used it most, due to all the fresh fruits available). I’d love to get a new one. Most often I made ones with bananas, almond milk, and peanut butter. Sometimes I would add fresh kale, but my blender never truly handled the blending of kale well.
