Tips and Tricks

  • Use ripe bananas for maximum natural sweetness.
  • Soak cashews ahead of time for an extra smooth texture if you have the time.
  • Adjust the amount of ice for thicker or more pourable consistency.
  • With a conventional blender, you’ll get the smoothest consistency if you use maple syrup or chop the dates finely.

  1. i love dr oz’s breakfast smoothie!

    2 tbsp rice protein powder

    2 tbsp ground flaxseeds

    1/2 cup frozen berries

    1/2 banana

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

  2. my favorite blender recipe is super simple, frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, greek yogurt for a super quick “ice cream”.

  3. Smoothies- green and fruit-based (berry, cantaloupe) are huge in our house. That’s probably the biggest reason our blender is used as much as it is!!! Great way to get the fruits and veggies (esp. greens) in!!! And, even more so in the summers…cannot wait for warmer weather to enjoy even more variety in blended drinks and smoothies…

  4. My kids love a smoothie with frozen blueberries, spinach, protein powder and plain yogurt. We’ve even made the recipe into Popsicles. Sure kids, have a Popsicle for breakfast;)

  5. I’m a come as you are kind of mom when it cones to smoothies & juices. We mix what we’ve got in the fridge. Some great combos have included avocados, collards, apple, carrots & melon.

  6. I love making just basic smoothies in the blender…a frozen banana, peanut butter, milk/kefir/yogurt, maybe some berries or other additions but I actually really like the basic peanut butter banana smoothie!

  7. Well my favorite used to be kale, coconut milk, hemp seeds, peanut butter and frozen banana but now it’s this amazing kale smoothie! My kids sucked it down and asked for more 🙂

  8. My favorite right now is PB & J smoothie
    2 cups milk ( I use almond)
    2 cups organic frozen strawberries
    1/3 cup unsalted peanut butter
    1 cup old fashioned oats
    1/2 tsp salt
    agave to taste

  9. I love a good smoothie! My favorite right now is banana, papaya, chia seeds and, vanilla almond milk! So good!

  10. I love getting my toddler to drink her greens with inspiration from some of your Weelicious recipes.

  11. I have been making smoothies for my boys since my oldest was 1 year old. We love to mix and match a bunch of fruits and veggies into the blender. Mostly what we have in the fridge is what goes in the blender. It’s fun to see their excitement of veggies this way (it’s pretty much the only way they get excited about veggies).
