How to Make Tastes-Like-Ice-Cream Kale Smoothie

- Put all of the ingredients into your blender (in the order listed in the recipe card) and puree for about a minute, until smooth and creamy. Tweak flavors to taste.
Tips and Tricks
- Use ripe bananas for maximum natural sweetness.
- Soak cashews ahead of time for an extra smooth texture if you have the time.
- Adjust the amount of ice for thicker or more pourable consistency.

Tastes-Like-Ice-Cream Kale Smoothie
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1/2 teaspoon probiotic powder, optional
- 1/2 cup raw, unsalted cashews, soaked
- 1 cup torn-up curly green kale leaves
- 2 ripe bananas, fresh or frozen
- 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates, soaked OR 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
- 2 cups ice cubes (a little less if using frozen bananas)
- 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger, optional
Instructions
- Put all of the ingredients into your blender in the order listed and puree for about a minute, until smooth and creamy. Tweak flavors to taste (you may like a bit more kale, sweetener, or ginger.)

We like to make banana “ice cream” by pureeing frozen bananas in the blender. That’s it. Creamy and delicious!
Spinach, frozen blueberries, pineapple, banana and coconut water
Almond milk, maca root powder, froz strawberry, half froz bana, flax oil, chia seeds, tsp almond butter
Almond milk, protein powder, frozen berries, spinach and tofu w/ a splash of honey.
Fresh carrot juice, frozen blueberries, a banana, ginger and lemon juice, yum!
my favorite green smoothie recipe is:
1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk
2 tbsp peanutbutter
1 banana
and fill the rest with spinach

Toss one cup almond milk, a tablespoon of almond butter, one frozen banana, a heaping spoonful of cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg in the blender and blend. Voila! Tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! 🙂

Favorite blender recipe: Fruit Smoothie (bananas, strawberries and red grapes) from the VitaMix cookbook. Oh, and also Whole Fruit Margaritas.
I can’t get my boys to drink smoothies because they get “nervous” about the green color. I’ve tried calling them “Yoda smoothies” and “Hulk juice,” but still no luck. I can’t wait to try this recipe and tell them it is pistachio ice cream. Crossing my fingers–wish me luck!
