Not sure what to serve at your Halloween party this year? How about giving everyone the finger? That joke may be in poor taste, but these cheese wafers aren’t.

I don’t know how else to describe them, but whether you’re having a get together this Halloween or just want to make something a bit gnarly looking — but delicious, I assure you — these fingers will be a hit!

Servings: 10
Prep Time 1 hour 50 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 2 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Lb or 2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 5 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Cup Raw Almonds, slivered or whole blanched

Instructions

  • Place the first 3 ingredients in a food processor and pulse to combine (dough may be a bit crumbly, but it will stick together).
  • Take a piece of dough and mold into a “finger” shape. Then place 1 slice of almond on the top of the “finger tip” for the “nail”. Press almonds down well into fingers to make sure they stay.
  • Refrigerate fingers for 1 hour or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Place fingers on a parchment paper or Silpat-lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Let fingers cool on sheet for 2 minutes before removing.
  • Serve.

  1. You could use false nails..they aren’t edible but I think you can find a set at most dollar stores.

  2. Would love to make these for my sons school party, however they have a NO nut policy. Any other ideas to use in place of almonds?

  3. I am confused about the 1 cup of almonds as well. Do they go into the dough, or are they just to make the nails?

  4. It’s too bad we can’t send homemade food to my daughter’s school because these would be perfect!

    Thanks for the recipe.

  5. So clever! I am going to make the Cheese Wafer Fingers and put a spider, or skull, ring on each for my son’s class. Weelicious to the rescue again! : )

  6. I am looking forward to trying these. You used the almonds in the fingers as well as just for the nail? Right? Just making sure!
