Pancake Tacos are a super simple way to make breakfast fun! Who wouldn’t want a pancake and taco combination?

Do I have the only kids who would rather eat with their hands than with a fork, knife or spoon? Especially when they’re ravenous they will come to the kitchen table and dig right in grabbing food and inhaling it as fast as possible. There are some foods that seem like they should be eaten with utensils, but they’re honestly a lot more fun to enjoy using fingers like chicken nuggets, pizza balls and especially many breakfast foods.

I’ve gotten to the point that I won’t even put out silverware in the morning when I’m making waffles, french toast or even pancakes as the kids prefer it when I fill little dishes with maple, honey or fresh raspberry syrup for them to dunk right into saving me the trouble of washing anything other than their plates.
Would you like to save this?

I love it when they get extra creative with their food creating new ways to eat what seems like a straightforward food. Kenya hadn’t been feeling great a few weeks ago and was sticking to the BRAT diet – bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. On this occasion, Kenya sat at the table after a day without eating from being sick. He sat staring blankly ahead with little interest in the leftover whole wheat pancakes I had placed in front of him. The next time I turned around he had filled the pancakes with yogurt and fruit calling them “Pancake Tacos”. He looked just like he was at a Mexican restaurant, tilting his head slightly to the side making sure that not a drop of the creamy filling dripped out of his “taco”.

The best part is that he immediately appeared to feel better as he ate with his hands, quickly filling his belly. I watched the joy and pleasure on his face eating a food the way he wanted to and probably ended up enjoying it even more. No utensils needed!

Love this idea, especially when doing “breakfast for dinner”! I think my kids do this themselves already, but the idea might help encourage the use of healthy fillings besides whipped cream:).
Great idea!
Holy cow! What a great idea. I’ve been looking for some other way to get creative with pancakes for my 3.5 year old who loves eating with his hands!
Love gogo squeez for snack for my kids. What a great idea for the pancake taco. The kids will love it:)
Thanks!!
Very cute idea.
Love the idea! We did crepes this morning from a kids cookbook- I love how just having pictures of kids cooking makes him want to help me in the kitchen! (However messy it gets)
I agree – finger food all the way!
We love GoGo squeeZ applesauce!
This is a great idea! You could also use crepes and do a full roll around the filling.
I originally read this post because I was looking for breakfast ideas for my toddler who loves the gogo squeez applesauce pouches, but this giveaway just makes it that much better!
My kiddos love GoGo Squeeze!
