As soon as your baby masters eating a variety of fruit and vegetable purees, it’s time to let them start trying to feed themselves. Especially when you have more than one child or a hectic schedule, allowing babies and toddlers to feed themselves offers a sense of independence that many little ones crave. Even at this young age it can make kids become more active than passive eaters.
For new eaters holding a spoon can be a tricky task to master, but holding a Little Green Pouch filled with homemade purees makes meal time easier and less messy for both mom and baby. Knowing that I’ve got less than a year before I’ll be feeding my new bundle of joy I’m going to stock up on a bunch of Little Green Pouches. Here’s a few of my favorite features about them_
Fill Em’ Up
There’s a zipper seal at the top of the pouch so you can easily open and fill up to 7 ounces of your favorite pureed foods. For the 1st use, just remove the cap and blow into pouch to expand it to its full shape! You can pack them in school lunch for older kids with applesauce, smoothies, yogurt, or fill them with dipping sauces, pizza sauce, and more.
Re-Use Re-Use
Little Green Pouches are made of durable, BPA-free, PVC-free & phthalate-free plastic. They are built to withstand beatings that only young children can give and even after cleaning take some more.
Freeze-Away
If you like to make homemade baby food in large batches, just fill up a bunch of reusable pouches and pop them in the freezer for another day. Defrost them in warm water when your little one is ready to enjoy. Or, pack them as freezer packs in your lunch in the morning for school aged kids so they’re ready for squeezing mid-day.
Now the most important part! What easy purees do you whip up to put inside? Here are 10 Homemade Baby Food Recipes for your Little Green Pouch that are made from a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables that are easy to find in markets right now and perfect for these Little Green Pouches!

I love making purees and putting them in reusable pouches. It saves so much money-I can’t bring myself to spend so much on applesauce in pouches at the grocery store! My favorite purees are carrot, apple and ginger, peaches & pears, sweet potatoes with carrots or apples, and a slightly lighter version of chickpea and whatever herbs are growing in the windowsill hummus. I’m going to try putting smoothies in them next! Thanks!
This would be a cool prize!
