When you have a baby you hope and expect that they will come out perfect in every way. You pray that everything you eat and do while your baby is in utero affects them in a positive way. I basically thought about this for 10 long months with each of my three pregnancies. I call these my crazy pants. I strap them on tight and don’t take them off until I’m holding my sweet babies in my arms.

With Kenya and Chloe I never had a day where I worried about them having food allergies as they never showed any signs of sensitives. I offered every food under the sun so they could enjoy a wide variety and they never had any reactions. With Gemma, though, it has been a different story. From the day she was born her skin was irritated and dry from eczema which was inevitably part of her diagnosis.

Would you like to save this?
We went to several allergists, I cut everything from dairy to gluten to sugar out of my diet for 5 long months. We finally discovered one of the causes being an egg allergy, but her eczema still hasn’t totally disappeared. There’s nothing more heart breaking than watching your child itch non stop whenever her clothes are off. Aside from changing my diet so my breastmilk is free of the foods we know are triggers, taking long warm baths and lubing her up with tons of moisturizing creams, there was little we could do to alleviate her pain.

We’ve always been conscious about the products we use in our home, but with anything that touches Gemma’s skin we have to be militant. We’ve always been big fan of the entire line of Seventh Generation products, but now with Gemma in diapers, using wipes on her skin several times a day and touching every surface around our home we’re even more aware. Watch this quick video to get even more ideas on how you can protect your children from pollutants, toxins and irritants and ideas of alleviating some of the possible causes of baby eczema in your home.

My 3 month old has eczema and I’ve cut dairy, eggs and more from my diet. Another thing I do is to completely dry the water from his skin after bath and between the skin folds after his bath and diaper changes. Then, I slather him with lotion to stay moisturized.
We nurture our baby’s skin with infant massage, using dye and perfume free detergents like seventh generation and avoiding dryer sheets.
My son has eczema also, thank you for sharing. I will try the Seventh Generat products.
Thank you for the chance to win! Our family loves Seventh Generation products!!
Eczema is the pits!
I love these products!
We have only purchased Seventh Generation products with my twin boys

Seventh Generation are great products. Would love to win for my new grand daughter.
I like calendula oil on babies skin (and mine!)
Your baby girl is beautiful. I hope she’s doing much better with her eczema from using the seventh generation products. I have young children who’s had their fair share of eczema, and I know how hard it is taking care of them. May we all continue to be strong moms for our kiddos.
I am pregnant with my first child so I don’t have a bathing routine, but would love to try these products! I have heard that bathing babies too often can dry their skin out!
Coconut Oil was our go to moisturizer with my first baby. Hoping it works just as well with baby number 2 in about a month!
Beautiful baby!!!!
I’ve always used only natural products for my kids.
Choosing products free of chemicals and artificial fragrances has never been more important than it is now that I have 2 children!
My second little boy Aidan has developed extremely sensitive skin. It is heartbreaking and has been a non- stop process to find things that don’t irritate his skin. Right now Motherlove diaper rash and thrush cream seems to work. I’ve switched out wipes to Seventh generation. Next is on to diapers and detergent. I’ve been waiting and watching between products to see what works and doesn’t. It’s been a long and expensive process and at times discouraging. Aidan is most of the time good natured about it which helps.
