Everyone needs 4 Quick Ways How to Soften Butter? I thought a post like this was necessary after watching my husband get annoyed every time he decided to bake something at the last minute and then realizing once he had already started making it that the recipe called for the butter to be at room temperature.
If baking is not something you do on a daily or weekly basis, discoverin that you forgot to take your butter out of the fridge beforehand to soften is one of those frustrating little details that can make the whole experience a little less enjoyable.
Would you like to save this?
That’s especially not fun when the holiday season rolls around, a time that is filled with lots of baking. From homemade sugar cookies to chocolate orange snaps to your favorite holiday cookie, chances are you’re going to be needing a lot of softened butter on hand.
Well, you’ll never have to wait around again since today’s Quick Tip video will show you how to soften your butter in four simple ways — and get your kids involved too. Watch and see why it may be the most fun they’ve ever had in the kitchen. And it doesn’t even involve chocolate.
It’s buttah, baby!

Love it 🙂 I’ll use the cut in up in cubes version. Thanks for saving me time!!
Great idea!!! Thank you!
Brilliant!! Thank you!!!!
This is me, all the time. Thanks for sharing!
Cute video! I just found your website and already asked for your cookbook for Christmas. Pinterest taught me to microwave the butter for 4 seconds on each side, although I do 5 seconds on three sides and 3 seconds on the last side….I’m different like that. It works like a charm but your ideas are much more fun.
Love your tips – great post and video! Your daughter is adorable!
Love your tip!! I always use the microwave and then it melts too much.
Thank you Chole, I giggled each time you said “whack” as you did your job. It’s been a joy watching you grow into a big girl. Thanks for helping your mommy, as she is helping other mommies cook yummy healthy food. Tell Kenya thank for being a helper too I hope to see you in a video again 😉
Love your ideas! Will share w my sister who always uses the microwave.
Thanks for the great tips. I never have soft butter when I need it. Agree with Lora and Liz much better then mircowave.
Love your cooking tips, but really love watching your parenting even more. Wish you did videos when my kid was little, maybe I would have been more fun!
Needed this on Tuesday!! Great tips I didn’t know.
These are all way better than the microwave. Thanks! I love the pocket idea. That’s how I thaw frozen chocolate too. I never thought about doing it with butter.
Greast ideas! I do that all the time!!! Much better than the microwave!
Thank you! Much easier then putting it in oven and wasting electricity. (or, so I have heard 🙂 )
Loved this! Thanks for the fun tips! And your little helper is adorable. (Whack, whack, whack)
